Email events@mofga.org to be added to the waitlist. *In the event of severe weather\, the March 7 pruning workshops will be held on March 8. *The workshop at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor will take place on our snow date of Sunday\, March 8 at 10 a.m. due to Saturday’s weather forecast. Learn to prune apple trees to encourage vigorous growth\, heavy fruit set and quality fruit yield. Fruit tree experts will offer hands-on pruning experience. Collection of scion wood and storage will also be discussed. This workshop is directed at folks who haven’t pruned before or have a little experience. Instructors will discuss basic pruning practices and required tools\, as well as identifying branch collars\, waterspouts\, fruit buds\, and about branch training. Locations include: College of the Atlantic (Bar Harbor) MOFGA’s Education Center (Unity)  Pineland Farms (New Gloucester) | Due to popular demand\, a second timeslot has been added from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.\, which also has a waitlist. *Apple Tree Pruning Workshops will also take place at Katahdin Children & Families Foundation\, in Patten\, on March 21. Note that the terrain includes uneven ground\, and participants will be standing and moving outside for the majority of the workshop.
